The Still Moving Image by Hugh Gilbert

I have been exploring the still image blended with many others to make a slowly evolving moving image.  Not a movie, because the essence of the project is to maintain the focus of the still image.

One of the first of these was made for a  charity auction, it sold well and the subject was a slow strip tease then getting dressed again.  It can be seen on vimeo here.  Since earlier this year, I have begun to explore the even slower moving image, Alex, naming her body parts is a very slow development of image.  The idea being that rather than having to look at a continuous movie, you can take in what you wish for the moment and come back to see whether the image has developed any further.

Just a thought.... Does a photograph always need to be still?
